The WHO issued warnings about dangerous cough syrups after hundreds of children died in Africa and Asia. The syrups were contaminated with ethylene glycol, a toxic chemical found in antifreeze. Experts warn that low levels of contamination can still be dangerous, especially when combined with paracetamol.
